Stephanie & Brian | A Winter's Wedding Tale

The first conversation I had with Stephanie and Brian was over Skype (isn't technology great?). Together they spelled out their vision for their wedding...a classic, elegant, winter affair. We were blessed with a nice blanket of snow the day of the wedding....which complemented the scene so nicely. Stephanie and Brian live in London, and I think that English style influenced her decision to go with a royal-looking, sleeved wedding dress. Simply gorgeous!!!

Update:  I recently received a wonderful letterpress card from Stephanie and Brian...

Dear Eric,

Thank you for helping us celebrate our wedding! The pictures you took are stunning and we couldn't have asked for anything other than what you delivered. We are so grateful that you captured the elegance and spirt of the weekend - having all of those memories to look back on is priceless. Your professionalism and  expertise were truly appreciated and we hope to have the chance to work with you again. All our thanks and best wishes, Stephanie and Brian

Laurenne | Another Winter Wedding

Laurenne really wanted to do her first look and couple's session outside.  I, too, prefer to shoot outside whenever conditions are suitable. Well, we might have stretched the boundaries of what was "suitable" that day. It was about 15degrees that afternoon...with gusting 20-25mph winds. We quite literally were being sandblasted by little ice crystals as the wind swirled and howled. Ashley of Little White Dress Weddings spent her time trying to shield the bride from getting an unwanted exfoliation. The wind would die down and we would quickly snap a few frames, then run into nearby buildings to warm up.  I couldn't feel my fingers. My eyes watered so much that I couldn't see through the viewfinder.
And yet, when I look at a photograph like this....with the bride looking so radiant...I know it was all worth it. I'll be posting the rest of the wedding soon, but couldn't resist sharing this sneak peek.

Stephanie | A Winter Wedding

Sure...sometimes those amazing destination wedding photographs can be enticing. Maui. Greece. Italy. The warm sun. Golden light. I am always available for those gigs, don't get me wrong. Take me with, please.  And yet, there is a quiet grace...a hushed beauty that comes with winter. Everything is softer. Tones richer. Peaceful. So, when it came time to shoot Stephanie's bridal portraits outside in the dead of the Indiana winter, I wasn't worried. I knew it would look pretty amazing too.
