Katie and Sean ~ engagement ~ Indianapolis

When I first found out that Katie and Sean lived near the canal in downtown Indianapolis, I was excited. It's a beautiful place to photograph with interesting architecture, lush greenery, and of course, the water. In fact, I was a bit surprised with how many different "looks" we were able to capture in such a short amount of time. I usually spend roughly two hours with my engagement session clients. It's a great time to get to know my clients better in preparation for their wedding day photography. Katie, Sean, and I had a wonderful time wandering around the canal and downtown, looking for little nooks and crannies to play in. I think we ended up with a great collection of images. Enjoy!

Sarah and Jason ~ wedding ~ Bloomington

One of the greatest gifts of all is love and we have found that in each other and we couldn't be happier.

Sarah and Jason's wedding was the first event of the year for me and I couldn't think of a better way to start off the wedding season. The ceremony was held at the intimate Beck Chapel in the heart of the Indiana University campus. The reception was at the Stone Crest Golf Course in Bedford, Indiana.

Just a few days after their wedding I saw the two of them trying out a pair of new bicycles on the nearby B-Line Trail here in Bloomington. They were such a cute couple as they basked in the glow of their newly-minted marriage. I'm so happy for them. I hope you enjoy the pictures. If you'd like to see more, be sure to check out the slideshow.

Three Smiles

I love capturing images like this. It's a classic moment...bride and groom looking into each others' eyes while standing at the altar. All the weeks of planning have paid off...the cake was ordered, the ceremony and reception sites chosen, wedding photographer selected (yours truly), and all their friends and family are there to share in the celebration of their special day. And then it hits them.....this is fun!!! More to come.

Weddings are going to the Farm

This past weekend I had the opportunity to photograph an amazing cake. Not just any cake, but one designed and prepared by chef Daniel Orr of the magnificent restaurant, Farm Bloomington. Daniel prepared the cake for one of his wedding clients and he asked me to take a few snapshots. I first met Daniel about a month ago while doing some advertisement images for Bloom Magazine. The cake itself is made up of dozens of cream puffs encrusted with a wonderful mixture of pine nuts. I even got to taste a sample! I love my job! If you're looking for a great meal, catering or venue for your next event, or simply to enjoy a drink and tapas in the FarmBar, be sure to head down to Kirkwood Ave. and Farm Bloomington.
