I'm So Excited ~ Bloomington Wedding Photography

I'm busy cleaning my lenses and cameras for a wedding tomorrow that I'm so looking forward to. Last November, I photographed Katie and Lance for their engagement. Well, their wedding has finally arrived. And I couldn't be happier. It's an outdoor wedding...my absolute favorite to photograph. The weather ordered for tomorrow is 76 and sunny. And they are getting married on her grandparents' farm. I love the textures and different "looks" I get when I'm in a new location...especially a farm. There seems to be an endless array of possibilities. I can't wait.

I'm sure they are looking forward to tomorrow for another reason! They're getting married!

Kind Words from the Mother of the Groom

Working as a wedding photographer, it's important to me not only to get great pictures, but also to help the families have a great time and to make sure things come off without a hitch. During one wedding I photographed last summer I ended up driving the best man from the ceremony to the reception because the rest of the wedding party left him behind!!!

I wanted to share a portion of the wonderful email I received from the MOG (mother of the groom) regarding the pictures I shot for Chris and Sarah's wedding last month. I was so honored to be a part of that family's important day....

My son and his new wife are awesome and so are the pics...... the wedding was the event of the year......the pics are a story of love between two wonderful people.

Have you met your match?

Last night my wife and I had the pleasure of visiting the home of some friends for dinner. We had a wonderful time chatting and eating homemade pasta and sauce. I must confess, I think this was the first time I've ever eaten homemade pasta. The food was wonderful (have to learn how to make it) and the company was great as well.
After dinner we went to the living room to continue conversations started at the table. Since this was our first time visiting with this couple I asked them how they met (yep, I'm always a wedding photographer!). I was floored by her response...
"We met through Match.com." "Really?" we said. That's awesome. My wife and I peppered them with questions...what was the first date like, who contacted whom? Apparently, she was in the beginning explorations with a guy in Missouri when her now husband first contacted her. Amazingly, they both lived in Bloomington...he was a young professional working in the medical field and she was finishing up school to become a music teacher. It didn't work out with the guy in Missouri.

You've seen the commercials on TV... a cute couple hugging on each other and testifying to the success they had with Match.com. I would watch with some skepticism...at the same time wishing and hoping that people could find true love through such a service. Well, I've met them....they are truly happy, in love and spending the rest of their lives together. It makes me feel good.

Sarah and Chris ~ Bloomington, Indiana Wedding

No detail was overlooked when it came to making this party unique and fun. Maybe it was the dogs coming down the aisle, or the bagpipes, or the hot dog stand after the reception. Maybe it was the trip out to the football standium prior to the ceremony, or the reception at the beautiful IU Auditorium. Chris and Sarah had a wonderful blend of fun, family and friendship at their wedding. The ceremony was at the  First United Methodist Church in Bloomington.

Marysol and David ~ Bloomington, Indiana Engagement

"Are we going to try and do this?" That's how this shoot began. After a day of rain it looked like the sky was trying to clear up. But then again...we decided to chance it. I'm so glad we did. We shot in a couple of different locations around Bloomington, Indiana...dodging rain drops all afternoon. It might have started out stressful but in the end we had a lot of fun...and ended up with some nice pictures as well.
